Finance background, analyst habits, athlete discipline
I am an Icelandic and Hungarian finance professional studying for a Master of Finance at Hult International Business School in Boston. I am looking for analyst roles starting in 2027 in asset management, investment banking and private markets.
Background
Reykjavík Energy
Accountant in the corporate accounting department from summer 2024 to September 2026. I processed and reconciled over 100 supplier invoices a week, redesigned Business Central workflows to speed up invoice processing, and worked across Business Central, Dynamics 365 F&O and Unit4.
Education
Master of Finance, Hult International Business School, Boston, expected August 2027. B.S. in Business Administration, Finance and Global Business, University of Evansville, May 2025. GPA 3.72, Magna Cum Laude, Dean's List five terms.
Athletics
Captain of the NCAA Division I swim team at the University of Evansville and a two time All Conference swimmer. I have also swum for the Icelandic National Swimming Team, including at the European Junior Championships.
- Data modelling. Star schemas, Power Query and DAX in Power BI, and calculated fields in Tableau.
- Accuracy. Supplier reconciliation work taught me to tie every number back to the source before anyone sees it.
- Telling the story. Each chart answers one question and its title states the finding.
- Tools. Excel, Power BI (Data Analytics and Power BI Specialization), Tableau, SQL and MySQL, plus Business Central, Dynamics 365 F&O and Unit4 from my accounting role.
- Languages. Fluent in Icelandic, Hungarian and English, conversational in Danish and Spanish.
In the near term I want to join an analyst programme in asset management, investment banking or private markets, where I can combine financial analysis with strong data skills. In the long term my goal is to become a CFO.
